Culligan COVID-19 Update

To Our Valued Customers,

As an individually owned and operated Culligan Water franchise we made the difficult decision on March 18th to shut down all outside services that we provide due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We service a very large area including Presque Isle, Mackinac, Chippewa, and Luce counties. After careful consideration, we are going to begin delivering water softener salt and bottled water to customer homes and businesses that are open during this time during our office hours of 8am-5pm. In order to provide these services, we will desperately need your help to ensure everyone stays safe. First, here are the general hygiene steps we are taking to make sure we are doing our part to make sure we are being safe during this process:

The health and safety of Culligan Water employees and customers is our highest priority. With COVID-19, commonly known as Novel Coronavirus 2019, becoming a more widespread concern, Culligan has implemented preventive measures in line with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). At this time, we are taking recommended precautions while continuing regular operations. We have instructed that all employees:

  • Wash their hands frequently (at least 20 seconds), as often as possible
  • Wear disposable gloves when handling objects other people will handle
  • Practice safe hygiene: https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/hygiene/etiquette/coughing_sneezing.html
  • Have hand sanitizer with at least 62% alcohol and sanitizing wipes readily available
  • Cover their mouth and nose with the crook of their arm while sneezing or coughing
  • Stay home if they are not feeling well or have symptoms such as a fever (100.4° or more) or respiratory condition
  • Self-quarantine or seek medical treatment when necessary

Now for the part that we need your help with! Our delivery person will not enter your home under any circumstances and will leave the salt or bottled water outside of your front entrance. If you are getting bottled water delivered, you will have to place your empty bottles outside of your front door and our driver will swap them for full bottles with the receipt taped to one of the bottles. Water softener salt will be left by your door in a similar manner with the receipt secured to one of the bags. If you are a business operating during this pandemic, we will deliver your salt and bottled water in the same fashion with the only change being we will leave the product inside of your front door, but will not enter a second door or any area occupied by people. Please have your empty bottles ready by the front door for our driver. We will be making calls to schedule the routes we have postponed due to the virus and hopefully be back to our normal delivery schedule in a couple of weeks.

We greatly appreciate your help in serving you in the safest way possible. Our team wants to go back to full force work like all Americans during this time and with your help can start with deliveries. With our wide service area, we have to be extra cautious with a pandemic as fierce as this one. If our driver feels they cannot complete your delivery in a safe manner, they have been instructed to move on with the route and we will have to make different arrangements for your case.
